Commodore (Rtd) Steven Jermy RN

Chair & Acting Chief Executive Officer

Steve Jermy is an offshore renewables professional and master mariner, with over 35-years offshore experience, including with leading offshore renewables companies Mojo Maritime Ltd and James Fisher Group PLC. He is also Non-Executive Director with leadership for energy and marine on the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP, where he leads the Zero Carbon Cornwall and Cornwall FLOW initiatives. He is a Chartered Marine Technologist and Fellow of both the Nautical Institute and the Institute of Marine Engineers, Scientists and Technologists.

Professor Deborah Greaves

Non-Executive Director

Deborah Greaves is Professor of Ocean Engineering and Director of the COAST Laboratory at the University of Plymouth with previous appointments at Universities of Oxford, UCL and Bath. Her research interests include marine and offshore renewable energy, and physical and numerical modelling of wave-structure interaction. She leads the EPSRC £9 million Supergen Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Hub and in 2018 was awarded an OBE for services to Marine Renewable Energy, Equalities, and Higher Education.

Paul Scullion

Non-Executive Director

Paul Scullion is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Marketer and Group Commercial and Finance Director at both Keynvor Morlift Ltd (the Cornish offshore renewables and marine civil engineering contractor) and Hughes Subsea Services Ltd. Paul has wide ranging corporate experience, including in corporate finance, financial control and across a range of sectors, most recently offshore renewables, having been Finance Director of Mojo Maritime Ltd, and Commercial Director and then Managing Director Projects of James Fisher Marine Services Ltd. In addition to his role with Keynvor Morlift, Paul also runs his own offshore renewables consultancy, 5SubSea.

Nicky Pooley

Vice Chair

Nicky Pooley is a Chartered Accountant and Head of Corporate Services at Cornwall Development Company, with over 20 years’ experience in corporate service support to economic development in Cornwall, including with Cornwall Enterprise and South West Investment Group prior to CDC. Her portfolio of expertise includes oversight of European Regional Development Fund projects in a range of sectors. Nicky acts as the Shareholder representative on the WHL Board, and is also a Director of South West Investment Group (Capital) Ltd.

Piers Guy

Non-Executive Director

Piers Guy is an offshore wind professional, and formerly Director of Global Offshore Development and UK Country Manager at Swedish utility Vattenfall, the world’s second largest offshore wind developer. Piers has worked in the wind industry for over 25 years with experience on some of the industry’s leading projects. In the onshore wind sector this includes Pen y Cymoedd, which at 230MW’s is the largest onshore wind project in England & Wales. In the offshore wind sector this includes Vattenfall’s 400MW Horns Rev 3 & 600MW Kreigers Flak in Denmark and in the UK the 3.6 GW Norfolk Vanguard & Boreas projects, as well as the Aberdeen Bay demonstration project. Piers now runs his own wind consultancy, Guy Energy, and consults for offshore wind companies around the world.
